When Paul Thouin began collecting art close to 30 years ago, he dreamed of sharing his passion for Quebec and Canadian art widely. He grew his collection over the years by visiting galleries and exhibits, and attending symposiums, auctions, events and biennials. The acquisition of certain artist’ catalogues, gallery catalogues and private collections would come to round out his private collection.

After a career in events and sponsorships, his dream wold begin to take shape when Anne Potvin joined him to showcase a collection where 20th century masters rub elbows with contemporary artists. The works are mostly exhibited on the Galerie Théo website. Théo was named in honour of Théo Van Gogh, art dealer and younger brother to Vincent Van Gogh, to whom he offered support and encouragement throughout his life.
