Simulators of the costs associated with a buy/sell transaction at auction
This tool will help you, through informations available to you, to simulate the breakdown of the diverse costs associated with a buy/sell transaction at auction.
How to proceed?
- Fill the form with all the parameters you have to consider. This information, a percentage (%) or a number (monetary value), will come from three (3) different sources:
- Yourself (re: transportation costs);
- Your auction house (re: seller's premium, buyer's premium, insurance, etc.);
- Your government for taxes.
- Write the anticipated or obtained adjudication price ("Hammer Price").
- "Click" on "Actualiser"
The tool will produce a monetary breakdown of the resulting amounts between the different partners (buyer, seller, auction house and government).
Our simulators are designed to address the four (4) following questions:
-
How much can I expect from the sale of my artwork at auction?
-
How much will it cost to acquire a work at auction?
-
How much should I sell a work at auction if I expect to recoup the equivalent of my total cost of acquisition?
-
How to return to the "hammer price" from the displayed sale price?
